Amanda Brugel

Tessa Tessa Amanda AmandaPointe Claire, a quiet town situated in the West Island of Montreal is where you can find a range of small companies. People aren't sure of the meaning of the word and assume it's a separate Island west of Montreal. It is actually it is a part of the West Island includes the entire area from Lachine until the west. Amanda Brugel was born there in fact, it's true. But she only visited for a few days. Brugel grew in Courtice in the outskirts of Oshawa. Initial goals included becoming an experienced dancer. But, an increase surge meant she had outgrown her dance partners. According to an article in The Toronto Star, she confessed, "In heels I am 6 foot 1 inch." As soon as I reached the height of my male colleagues I worked with, I quit. Some former dancers switch to acting, and in the case of Brugel, it was a nudge from a high school drama teacher which pushed her to take a step in the correct direction. The teacher who suggested she try her hand at a character in the annual school production. The teacher suggested she attempt to play a part in the school's annual production. It was her turn to be cast as Anne of Green Gables. The Fine Arts Talent Award at York University led her to the Theatre Program and she graduated in 2000, with a bachelor's art degree in fine arts.
